Picnic 2010

ICC Summer Picnic 2010 will be held at Loantaka Brook Reservation, Morristown on Sunday, August 22nd from 10 AM to 3 PM. The picnic will be held at the Saturn Playground & South Street Picnic Shelter inside the park.


Baisakhi 2010

Indian Community Center of Garden State celebrated Baisakhi 2010 on 2nd May at Jefferson Elementary School, Succasunna. Highlights of the fun-filled evening were Children’s Variety Program, Dance recital by members of ICC and Rabindra Sangeet by a renowned local NJ Artist.


Saraswati Puja 2010

Indian Community Center of Garden State celebrated Saraswati Puja 2010 on 30th January at the Eisenhour Middle School, Succasunna. The annual Children's Art Competition was held after the Puja. The cultural program featured songs, dances and music by ICC members, young and old. The guest artist, Suranjan Bhanja Choudhury sung an assortment of melodious Bengali and Hindi songs. The event ended with the community dinner.

Holiday Party 2009

ICCGS Holiday Party 2009 had been canceled due to inclement weather on December 19th.

AGM 2009

ICCGS Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday, December 6th from 1 PM at Union Hill Presbyterian Church on Franklin Road.

Durga Puja 2009

On 19th and 20th October, Indian Community Center of Garden State, New Jersey, celebrated Durga Puja 2009. This year the celebration was held at the Roxbury High School, a bigger and more spacious location. The school premises were nicely decorated. Puja was performed in the usual warm and homely atmosphere. Members and guests took part in Pushpanjali, Prasad distribution, Bisarjan dances and Sindur khela. Delicious community dinner was served on both days. For shopping enthusiasts there were stalls of sarees, jewelry, books, CDs and DVDs,

People enjoyed the cultural programs to the fullest on both days. ICC members and local guest artists displayed their talents through songs, dances, recitations and dramas. Amit Paul, Indian Idol superstar from Mumbai, enthralled the audience with popular songs from past and present. Kolkata 'Shruti Natak' artists, Urmimala and Jagannath Bose, depicted the relationship between man and woman in a novel yet entertaining way that relies solely on voice intonation. Taalsadhana group also mesmerised the audience with their mastery of voice, tabla and sitar.

Picnic 2009

ICC's annual summer picnic was held on Sunday, 23rd August at Loantaka Brook Reservation, Morristown from 10AM to 3PM. The day was full of fun activities. Food was delicious and plentiful.
