KAYA, the Bangla band from Kolkata will perform on Saturday, Oct. 9th. Folk fusion band KAYA, started their musical journey in the year 2002. From the very beginning, their motto was to enrich the heritage and culture of Indian folk music. The tunes of KAYA float on melody and rhythm of Folk, synthesizing the rich lyrics. The rich variance of the band’s music spreads the flavor of life, with the tunes of bamboo flute blending the strumming of guitar and “Dotara” with the rhythm of “Madol” into the deep beats of “Ganjira” and drums. In their songs, they also use many other rare and rich folk instruments like “Ektara”, “Khol”, “Dhol” and “Gubgubi”. KAYA's music is thus a magical amalgamation of Folk and Rock.
